Uriel Pharmacy
In late 2003, doctors and patients in the United States using anthroposophical medicine faced a crisis. Raphael Pharmacy, a main supplier of anthroposophical remedies in the country, closed suddenly, leaving many key remedies unavailable. Fortunately, another pharmacy was able to meet the needs of Raphael Pharmacy’s clients. Uriel Pharmacy had expanded its facilities in anticipation for future growth and was prepared to respond to increased demand.
Dr. Philip Incao of Denver, Colorado, recalls, “Many of my patients were left stranded in the midst of their anthroposophical therapy. Thanks to Uriel Pharmacy’s swift and decisive response to this crisis, my patients were all able to continue their regimens with minimal disturbance to the rhythm of their healing. They were also very pleased with the high quality of the Uriel remedies.”
Uriel Pharmacy was founded 1996 in East Troy, Wisconsin, thanks in part to a loan from RSF. Several years later, an additional loan from RSF made it possible for Uriel to expand and improve its facility. Now in its tenth year, Uriel continues to meet its mission of keeping anthroposophical medicine alive and available. Rudolf Steiner collaborated with Dr. Ita Wegman in developing this holistic approach to medicine in the 1920’s.
“We are honored to be their long-term partner,” says Mark A. Finser, president and CEO of RSF. “Their mission of supporting physicians in treating all aspects of a person’s health—mind, body, and spirit—is very important and timely.”
“Working with RSF is such a positive experience, like day and night compared to banks. RSF is always supportive, no matter what the issue. I feel like I’m working with friends,” says Mark McKibben, pharmacist and founder. “Our goal is to be responsive to doctors and patients. RSF has been responsive to us. As we approach Uriel’s ten-year anniversary, we want to thank RSF and RSF’s investors for their support.”
