Mid-States Shared Gifting Program
Thank you for your interest in the Mid-States Shared Gifting (MSSG) Program. Please review the Q&A below to learn about this grantmaking program. You may also download the complete MSSG grant guidelines.
What is the MSSG Program?
As a field of interest fund at RSF, the MSSG Program makes contributions to humanity and society in the Mid-States region based on the spiritual-scientific indications of Rudolf Steiner.
What is the purpose of the MSSG Program?
The threefold purposes of the MSSG Program are to facilitate research, grantmaking, and resource development.
Who is eligible to apply for a grant from the MSSG?
Grants made from the MSSG Program go mostly to initiatives located in the Mid-States. These include Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama to the East, and Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico to the West, and all the states in between. The Program will consider grant requests from initiatives in other areas with the condition that the grant provides significant services to the Mid-States region.Note about Fund Sharing Groups: If you are not a member of a Fund Sharing Group and you have submitted a complete application, you will be contacted by a member of the advisory group to discuss your application and the mission of your project or organization.* After due study, the MSSG Program advisors may recommend grants to RSF for approval.
*In addition to the general grantmaking program, The MSSG Program also funds two fund sharing groups—the Waldorf Schools Fund Sharing Group and the Adult Education Fund Sharing Group. These groups exchange proposals and engage in a collaborative dialogue and sharing process that results in grant allocations for the participants. The groups are linked to the advisory committee through liaisons. Membership and participation in the groups is governed by the advisors to the Mid-States Shared Gifting Program. As part of its research, the advisory group is considering new approaches and new groups to engage in the fund sharing process as part of its mission to foster collaboration and mutuality.
What is the application deadline?
Applications for the 2007-2008 grant cycle must be postmarked no later than August 1, 2007.
When will RSF notify grant applicants?
