Social Innovation Fund (formerly New Initiatives Fund)

We are inviting donors to recommend gifts to the Social Innovation Fund. The Social Innovation Fund fosters initiatives that fall within the context of RSF’s mission statement, and that have the capacity to further social, environmental, and cultural sustainability. It supports and recognizes through small grants the creation of new initiatives that have the capacity for growth and eventual financial independence.

Your tax-deductible contributions will go towards supporting innovative projects in areas such as community development, social justice, and environmental sustainability. RSF’s Social Innovation Fund has awarded grants to initiatives such as:

  • Homeward Bound of Marin for developing a trauma treatment center for homeless children and their families;
  • Rugmark Foundation for their campaign to raise awareness to end child labor in South Asia’s handmade carpet industry;
  • World of Good Development Organization for developing the Fair Trade Pricing Calculator; and the
  • San Diego Environmental Foundation for creating a mobile classroom to teach elementary school students about alternative energy.

Checks and Money Orders

RSF accepts checks and money orders payable to “RSF” or “RSF Social Finance.” Please indicate the project or fund you wish to support on the memo line of your check or money order. Please mail it to RSF Social Finance, 1002A O’Reilly Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94129. We will mail your acknowledgement letter to the name and address indicated on your check.

Securities

Please contact us for instructions on donating securities or other types of private equity.

Wire Transfers

Please contact us for instructions on making a wire tranfer of funds to RSF.

Bequests

Retirement Plans

RSF accepts donations from retirement plans. Please contact your financial advisor or plan custodian prior for information about how to make a donation.

Vehicles

At this time, RSF is not able to accept donations of motor vehicles.

The following types of gifts may be accepted by RSF on a case by case basis: real estate, life insurance policies, or other personal property. Please contact us to determine if we can accept accept your gift.
